Dragon Women Continue Upward Trajectory in Regional Index, Men Remain 13th

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- MSU Moorhead women's track & field moved up one spot in the weekly USTFCCCA regional index as the Dragon men continued to lay claim to the 13th position in the Central Region. 
 
The Dragon men remained in the number 13 spot in the Central Region for the fourth consecutive week. MSUM commanded 203.07 in the latest index following a successful week at both the Drake Relays and the 36th annual Ron Masanz Classic. 
 
In Des Moines, Braxton Bruer broke the outdoor 800m school record (1:49.45) while the 4x400m relay team clocked an NCAA provisional time of 3:13.16. Bruer was named the NSIC's Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts. At the MSUM-hosted Masanz Classic, the Dragons were led by event wins from Jared Gregoire (800m, 1500m), David Daniels (long jump) and the 4x400m relay team of Ty Dawkins, Jerome Crayton, Marcus Crayton and Thomas Kern
 
MSUM's women's team continued to rise in the regional index, jumping to number 23 in the Central Region after being ranked 24th a week prior. The Dragons grabbed 83.65 points in the latest poll. At the Masanz Classic, MSUM's women were led by event wins from Robynn Rolle-Curry (200m), Shavantae Roberts (100m), Sophia Sowada (800m), Ashley Hokanson (pole vault) and the 4x100m relay team of Rolle-Curry, Roberts, Hokanson and Adla Serrao.
 
The Dragons are in action preparing for the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend on the campus of North Dakota State. The NDSU Tune-up is scheduled to begin at noon on Friday.
