Moorhead Track & Field Sharp at Gary Wilson Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead sent its sprints, jumps and distance crew to the Gary Wilson Invitational on Wednesday. 

Sprints/Hurdles/Relays

Ahniesha Presulme would again lead the Dragons in the 100m hurdles, clocking an outdoor best time of 14.42. The sprint ties Presulme for fourth all-time in MSUM history. In the women's 400m hurdles, Lucea Wales (1:08.89) would mark a new personal best. 

Brandon Pemberton would turn in a strong sprint in the men's 100m preliminaries. Pemberton crossed the line at 10.39 (+5.6 m/s wind aid) to place ninth and qualify for the finals. Isaiah Tandoh would register a 10.66 in the same event, a new outdoor best and now the eighth-fastest in program history. On the women's side, Cipriana Jones would clock a new outdoor best at 11.93. That mark now stands as the fourth-fastest in program history. 

Jones would collect another outdoor best in the women's 200m dash. The true freshman finished at 24.70, which now stands tied as the seventh-fastest mark in program history. Brihonne Cargill (25.38) would also set a new outdoor benchmark. 

Frosty Wisnewski would turn in a new outdoor best in the men's 400m. Wisnewski clocked a 50.37 for a sixth-place finish. On the women's side, both Christalea Wagner (58.07) and Liv Birkeland (59.20) would each set new personal bests. 

MSUM's women's 4x100m team of Audrey Janich, Jones, Cargill and Allysah Larson would win the event with a time of 47.98. The men's 4x100m team of Austin Weite, Tandoh, Wisnewski and Pemberton placed third with a mark of 42.17. 

Jumps

Presulme would turn in another strong effort in women's triple jump to place fourth overall. The redshirt junior traveled 39-10 (12.14m) to earn the placement (+4.6 m/s wind aid). Larson (11.49m) would place eighth in the same event. On the men's side, Aidan Fitts (13.59m) would place eighth as well.

Larson would be Moorhead's top finisher in women's long jump, traveling 17-11 (5.46m) to place 10th. Hunter Petersen would be MSUM's top finisher once again in women's high jump. The senior cleared 5-05 (1.65m) to place fifth overall. 

Distance

Chase Hoechst would lead MSUM's efforts in the men's 5000m invitational run, winning the event with a finishing time of 14:56.32. James Dorado (15:33.45) would place eighth while Seth Meikle (15:53.59) marked a season best time.

In the men's 1500m open run, Ivar Martell would claim runner-up marks for Moorhead at 4:13.16. On the women's side, true freshman Emma Jamison would mark a new personal best of 5:14.41.

Jared Gregoire would lead a healthy Dragon contingent in the men's 800m run. Gregoire would claim runner-up marks with a time of 1:54.13. Jadon Boots would finish in third with a mark of 1:54.20. Bridger Larson (1:59.80) would collect a new personal best in the same event. 

Up Next

The Dragons will get set for the Al Cassell Classic in Jamestown, N.D. this Saturday. Events are slated to begin at noon.
