MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead track and field teams are set to compete in the UND Tune-Up in Grand Forks, N.D. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday. This competition will be the final meet for the Dragons before the NSIC Indoor Championships.
The last competitions for the Dragons were the Minnesota State Massive Meet and the SDSU Indoor Classic on Friday and Saturday last weekend.
For the Dragon men, freshman
Jared Gregoire set a new MSUM record on his way to a win in the 800m run. Sophomore
Thomas Kern placed third in the 400m dash, while senior
Kendrick Major and junior
Ibrahim Oduong placed fifth and sixth respectively. Senior
Shyrone Kemp won the triple jump once again at the Minnesota State Massive Meet. Gregoire and Kemp were named NSIC Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances.
For the Dragon women, sophomore
Ashley Hokanson once again broke her own record in the pole vault as she placed first in the event. Junior
Robynn Rolle-Curry finished third in the 400m dash. Senior
Sophia Sowada finished eighth in the women's 800m run.
Ryan Milner is in his sixth season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
