| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead soccer looks to disrupt the NSIC standings this weekend in a pair of home matches. The Dragons play host to Minot State on Friday at 3 p.m. before taking on UMary on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Live video and stats will be available at msumdragons.com. Moorhead (3-10-2, 2-9-1 NSIC) is coming off a pair of losses in NSIC action last weekend to Minnesota State (5-0) and St. Cloud State (4-0).

Matchup History...The Beavers hold a seven-match unbeaten streak against the Dragons dating back to the 2021 season. Minot State was won six of those seven matches with the squads playing to a scoreless tie on November 2, 2023. The Dragons last defeated Minot State on September 20, 2019, in a 1-0 win in Moorhead. UMary has not lost to the Dragons in Sarah Cook's tenure as head coach. The Marauders have won 16 of the last 19 matches with the Dragons dating back to the 2009 season. Moorhead earned draws with the Marauders during the 2023 season (0-0) as well as in 2019 (0-0) and 2010 (2-2).

Schedule Update...The October 29 soccer match with Minnesota Crookston will be played inside the new Fargo Parks Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex. Kickoff against the Golden Eagles is slated for 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 29. The contest is the final regular season match for both squads and will serve as a Highway 75 Rivalry Rock game. That match will also be free to attend. The Fargo Parks Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility nestled in south Fargo. Opened in 2024, the Fargo Parks Sports Center was achieved due to the partnered efforts of the Fargo Park District, Sanford Health and many more community partners. The goal when developing the Fargo Parks Sports Center was to address a critically unmet community need for indoor recreation facilities to serve Fargo and the surrounding region. The facility features a game-length soccer turf, eight hardwood courts, an indoor track, an IcePlex as well as meeting and event spaces

Something About Mary...Junior midfielder Mary Cox scored again in MSUM's 1-0 victory over Minnesota Duluth on October 9. After the ball ping-ponged around, an errant header from the Bulldogs had the ball landing in front of Cox. The junior would wind up and fire off a speedy ball that proved to have too much pace for Bulldog keeper Edy Halverson. Cox's shot landed in the top corner of the net, offering up a 1-0 MSUM lead nine minutes into the game. The Evergreen, Colo., native's score was her third of the season as she currently leads MSUM with seven points.

Kristensen Dials In...Sophomore goalkeeper Emilia Bukholt Kristensen earned her third clean sheet of the 2026 season on October 9 against Minnesota Duluth. Kristensen made 10 total saves in the match, including a pair of acrobatic stops. So far this season, Kristensen had made 95 saves behind a .760 goals against average. Kristensen leads the NSIC with her 95 saves this season.

Tick Tick Tick...Fifth-year Lizzy Jaraczeski and Madison Sharp logged full 90 efforts in at least one match for the Dragons last week.. Jaraczeski is third on the roster in minutes played (non-goalkeeper) with 1,194 minutes. Sharp went over the 1,000-minute mark last season, entering this weekend's matches having played 1,030. Cox leads the roster with 1,281 minutes played this season.

Scott Forster is in his third season as MSUM's head soccer coach.
