| By:
BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- For the second time this season, Dragon senior center Peyton Boom has been named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week.

The honor is Boom's second of the year and it is the second time in 14 days that the senior has been named NSIC North Division Player of the Week.

Boom began her weekend with her third double-double of the season in MSUM's 68-42 win over Bemidji State. The senior scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Dragon win. The Barnesville, Minn., native had eight offensive rebounds in the contest, which tied her career high set against Southwest Minnesota State in February 2022. Boom also dished out five assists, had two steals and made six free throws in the win over the Beavers.

In MSUM's 71-50 win over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Boom scored another 19 points to go along with five rebounds. The Dragon center shot nine of 11 (81.8 percent) from the field in the game, including a three-pointer, her third of the season. For the weekend, Boom had splits of 15.5 points and nine rebounds a game at a 54.5 percent shooting clip.

The senior currently sits 1,198 career points which is the 16th most in MSUM school history. Boom needs two points to pass Dana Weibel for 15th on that list. In 2022-23, Boom is averaging 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game all while shooting 59.6 percent from the field.
