BISMARCK, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team ended a six-match losing streak with a 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22 win over Mary in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Tuesday night in Bismarck, N.D.
MSUM is now 9-15 overall and 4-12 in the NSIC while Mary fell to 1-24 overall and 0-17 in the league.
Sophomore middle blocker
Elise Bakke led the hitting attack with 10 kills while freshman right side hitter
Teeya Doppler had nine and sophomore hitter Layla Sanati-Zaker had eight. Six Dragons had at least seven kills in the match.

Amber Bretwisch had 31 assists while sophomore setter
Katelyn Selensky had 15.

Sarah Petrbok had 15 digs each. Senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins had five block assists to go with her seven kills and four service aces.
The Dragons led much of the first set but the Marauders closed the gap to 21-20. The Dragons scored the next three points highlighted by a kill from sophomore outside hitter
Amanda Carlson to push the lead to 24-20. Moments later Carlson finished off a 25-21 Dragon win with a kill.
Mary came back to win the second set but the Dragons bounced back in Set 3. They trailed 16-14 but scored six points in a row — which included two kills from Sanati-Zaker — to take a 20-16 lead on their way to a 25-21 win.
The Dragons were down 22-20 in the fourth set but scored the final five points, keyed by two block assists and a kill from Bakke, to wrap up the match with a 25-22 win.
Freshman hitter
Bridget Witzmann and Carlson had seven kills each for MSUM.
MSUM hosts Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. on Friday.
