MOORHEAD, Minn.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Sioux Falls (S.D.) at home on Friday, losing 25-15, 25-23, 25-27, and 25-19.
MSUM fell to 9-16 overall and 4-13 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with the loss. Sioux Falls improved to 15-10 overall and 7-10 in the NSIC.
Freshman hitter
Teeya Doppler led the way offensively with 12 kills. Senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins had 10 kills, while sophomore blocker
Elise Bakke had nine. At the net, Jenkins, Doppler, and sophomore blocker
Leyla Zaker each had two blocks. Defensively, sophomore libero
Sarah Petrbok led with 13 digs. Sophomore setter

Brooke Walthall each had seven digs. Freshman setter
Amber Bretwisch had a team high 23 assists, followed by Selensky who had 20.
After losing the first set quickly and keeping it close in the second set, MSUM fought hard in the third. With the Cougars up 22-20, the Dragons scored three straight points. After a series of back and forth kills, the set was tied 25-25. A kill by Bakke followed by a Petrbok service ace gave MSUM the win in the third set.
The Cougars went on to win the fourth and final set.
MSUM takes on Southwest Minnesota State at home on Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
