MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Minot State on Saturday, losing 25-21, 19-25, 25-17, 25-18 in Minot, N.D.
MSUM fell to 8-15 overall and 3-12 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with the loss while Minot State improved to 3-21 overall and 3-13 in the league.
Sophomore hitter
Amanda Carlson had a solid all-around match for MSUM with 15 kills and 10 digs. Senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins had 10 kills and two blocks, while sophomore outside hitter
Sarah Petrbok had eight kills and a team-best 17 digs. Freshman setter
Amber Bretwisch had 21 assists while sophomore
Katelyn Selensky had 18.
After losing the first set MSUM started quickly in the second set, opening a 7-1 lead thanks to a series of Minot errors. The Beavers closed the gap to 24-19 but kill from freshman
Teeya Doppler.
The Beavers won the next two sets to finish off the four-set win.

Brooke Walthall had 10 digs for MSUM while Doppler had eight kills.
MSUM plays at UMary for a 6 p.m. match on Tuesday in Bismarck, ND.
