MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team picked up its second win of the weekend with a 25-12, 26-24, 22-25, 25-21 win over Minnesota Crookston on Saturday at Nemzek Fieldhouse in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM is now 7-7 overall and 2-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while UMC fell to 2-12 overall and 0-6 in the league.

Sarah Petrbok had a big match for MSUM with 13 kills and 10 digs. Freshman hitter
Bridget Witzmann had 11 kills while sophomore hitter
Amanda Carlson had 10.
Freshman setter
Amber Bretwisch had 21 assists while sophomore
Katelyn Selensky had 17. Freshman libero
Brooke Walthall led with 15 digs while Selensky had 14. Senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins had one solo block and five assists.
MSUM hit .217 as a team for the match compared to .149 for UMC.
The Dragons held an 11-8 lead in the first set but scored the next seven points — which included two kills and a service ace from Jenkins — to build a 17-8 advantage on their way to a 25-12 win.
The second set was close much of the way and was tied at 24-24. But a Witzmann kill put MSUM up 25-24 and an error by UMC clinched a 26-24 win.
The third set saw UMC take a 25-22 win, holding off a late MSUM rally. In the fourth set MSUM trailed 17-14 at one point but scored four points in a row — on kills from sophomore hitter
Elise Bakke, freshman
Teeya Doppler, Petrobk and Selensky — to take an 18-17 lead. Moments later Witzmann finished off the set with back-to-back kills in a 25-21 win.
MSUM is on the road next weekend starting Friday at St. Cloud State.
