ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team was swept by No. 11-ranked St. Cloud State, 25-13, 25-13, 25-22 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Friday night in St. Cloud, Minn.
MSUM fell to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in the NSIC while St. Cloud State improved to 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the league.

Brooke Walthall had 12 digs while sophomore hitter
Sarah Petrbok had 11. Sophomore middle blocker
Elise Bakke had one solo block and three assists while Doppler had three assists.

Amanda Carlson led the hitting attack with seven kills each while freshman hitter
Bridget Witzmann had five. Freshman setter
Amber Bretwisch had 13 set assists.
MSUM hit .131 for the match while St. Cloud State hit .274.
The Huskies jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the opening set and MSUM got no closer than five the rest of the way in a 25-13 SCSU win.
A Carlson kill gave MSUM a 4-3 lead in the second set, but SCSU score eight of the next 10 points to take an 11-6 lead. MSUM was as close as 12-8 after a Carlson kill but the Huskies pulled away to a 25-13 win.
MSUM started strong in the third set, jumping out to a 12-5 lead. Carlson had two kills and a block assists during that run. SCSU stormed back to take an 18-16 lead, but MSUM regained the lead on an error at 20-19. The Huskies scored six of the final eight points to secure a 25-22 win.
MSUM plays at No. 4 Minnesota Duluth for a 4 p.m. match on Saturday.
