MOORHEAD, Minn. – No. 20 Winona State started out strong and recorded a 25-16, 25-11, 25-16 win over Minnesota State University Moorhead in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.
MSUM fell to 8-11 overall and 3-8 in the NSIC while Winona State improved to 14-5 overall and 7-4 in the league.
The Warriors flexed their offensive attack, hitting .443 with just eight errors in 88 attack attempts. MSUM hit just .086 for the match.

Brooke Walthall and sophomore hitter Sarah Petbrok had nine digs apiece. Senior middle blocker
Kaylyn Jenkins finished with four kills, one solo block and one assist.
The Dragons were within 13-10 in the opening set before the Warriors scored four straight points to build a 17-10 lead on their way to a 25-16 win.
Winona State dominated the second set, taking a 17-6 lead on its way to a 25-11 win.
The third set was close as MSUM was within 13-12 after a Selensky kill, but Winona State responded to build a 17-13 lead. The Dragons got no closer than three the rest of the way in a xx-xx win
MSUM is back on the road next weekend, starting Friday at Concordia-St. Paul.
