MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams are making the short trek to compete at the NDSU Bison Open on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 in Fargo, N.D.
 
MSUM competed at the UND Indoor Open last week and had highlight wins from junior Nadir Yusuf and sophomore Chris Cook. Yusuf won the 5,000 in 15:10.07, which is the fifth-best time in the NSIC. Cook won the men's high jump at 6-8, which is a personal-best and the second-best jump in the NSIC this season.
 
Senior Emily Waletzko was runner-up in the weight throw at 60-2 1/2, the throw set a personal-best and is the 11^th best throw in Division II this season. The throw is the second-best in the NSIC this season.
 
Junior Kathryn Sistrunk was second in the women's 5,000 at 18:16.92 which is the best run in the NSIC this season. Freshman Sophia Sowada finished in a tie for second in the high jump at 5-3, which was a personal-best and tied for fourth best in the NSIC.
