Thuringer Signs With MSUM Women's Basketball

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead head women's basketball coach Karla Nelson has announced that Emma Thuringer of Worthington, Minn., has signed to continue her athletic and academic career at MSUM starting this fall.

Thuringer is a 5-foot-10 guard/forward who competed at Worthington High School.

"Emma is a great athlete who will add depth to our perimeter game," Nelson said. "Her game has a ton of untapped potential and she has a work ethic to take her game to the next level. She comes from a winning high school program and we believe Emma will be another great Dragon student-athlete."

A three-time all-conference action, Thuringer averaged 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as a senior. She was all-area and all-state honorable mention as a senior. She has a career high of 27 points in her career. Thuringer finished with 970 career points and 400 rebounds.

Here is a look at the career achievements of the early signees:

Nicole Brown (6-3, C,  Madison, S.D.): Finished with 968 career points and 840 career rebounds, and earned three all-conference selections in career.

Nicole Hebranson (5-9, G, Rollag, Minn.): Finished with 1,650 career points, 746 rebounds and 482 assists…Heart O'Lakes Co-MVP along with future teammate Natalie Steichen.

Autumn Schlader (5-11, F, Green Bay, Wis.): First-team all-conference as a senior and named to WBCA All-Star team. averaged 11.4 points per game and was team Co-MVP.

Natalie Steichen (G, 5-5, Dilworth, Minn.): Finished with 1,941 career points and is all=time scoring leader in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton history…Heart O'Lakes Co-MVP along with future teammate Nicole Hebranson.
