MOORHEAD, Minn. -- A field of 88 golfers took part in the 36th annual Dragon Open golf tournament on Monday.  The event was held on a warm, sunny day at the Moorhead Country Club in Moorhead, Minn.

The Gross winners group consisted of Matt Hayden, Matt Oye, Erik Weiss and Jon Wepking, while the Net winners were Steve Mikkelson, Jim Mikkelson, Jack Arneson and Bill Short.

Norm Felde, pictured at right, was honored prior to the tournament for being "young at heart" and for his continued support of the tournament.

Dan Smith along with his sons Marco and Jeff Smith were acknowledged as three generations who have golfed in the Dragon Open.  Dan is the son of T.E. Smith, legendary Dragon Golf Coach and Athletic Director.  In memory of T.E. Smith, a Dragon Open Golf Tournament award will be presented each year listing the first place Net & Gross winners.
