Manning the Helm…
Joel Beard became the Dragons Interim Head Coach in the spring of 2010 after serving as the team's offensive coordinator for three seasons. Beard also served as the team's interim head coach for the final five games of the 2009 season.?

Beard, along with Athletics Director Doug Peters, hired a decorated coaching staff in the spring of 2010 that will assist in developing a renewed tradition in the Dragon football program as well as training the athletes to play at their fullest potential.

A new scheme both on and off the field was hatched in the spring of 2010 under Beard's guidance where the team operates under the motto 'Win Everyday.' The motto emblazon in all aspects of the student-athletes' lives, where the Dragons coaching staff's goal is to promote the total development of each student-athlete academically, socially and athletically.

This spring the team and the coaching staff signed a pledge that states: On a daily basis, we pledge to represent ourselves, family and our university with pride and honor with total commitment to winning everyday.
