Prep: Had personal best times of 15:37 in the cross country 5k, 9:34 in the 3200m, 4:20 in the 1600m and 1:58 in the 800m at Williston High School...was a two-time cross country team MVP while also earning a pair of team MVP awards in track & field...was a two-time all-state runner for the Coyotes and a four-time state placewinner in track & field...was a high school cross country All-American...helped Williston to a North Dakota state team championship. 

Personal: Son of Emily and Rory Cowan. Majoring in biology.
