LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Minnesota State Moorhead golf made moves up the team and individual leaderboard on day two of the SMSU Challenge. The Dragons shot an improved 336 on day two to place eighth with a season-best cumulative score of 685.
The 18-hole score from Friday is also a season best for the Dragons.
Halle Balluff would again pace Moorhead on day two, shooting an improved 74, which matches the 18-hole school record (held by teammate
Aspen Beyer). Balluff was consistent all day, shooting four over on the front nine, which included four pars and a birdie. The Moorhead native was even better in the back nine, shooting even par (34) with just one bogey. Balluff combatted her bogey with a birdie on the par-four 12
th hole. The senior finished seventh on the individual leaderboard, a personal best performance.
Beyer shot a stroke better on Friday, carding an 82 overall with six pars and a birdie. The Wheaton, Minn., native earned her one-under marks on the par-five third hole at Wigwam Blue Course, which spanned 477 yards. The sophomore moved up 10 spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in 24
th.
Regan Braun would see an improvement on Friday as well, shooting a second-round 86. Braun came in seven strokes below Thursday's score thanks to three pars and a pair of birdies. The Bismarck, N.D., native collected one-under marks on the par-three second hole and the par-three 17
th hole. The round for Braun is a new personal best.
Kamryn Wesloh would join the Dragon scoring contingent on day two, shooting a 94 overall. That mark is 16 strokes better than day one for the newcomer. Wesloh had two pars and a birdie on the par-four 16
th hole.
Karlee Luneckas would also improve on Friday, shooting a 96 to lower her Thursday score by four strokes.
Adi Houkom would shoot a 100 in the second round.

MSUM will not compete next until the Augie Spring Invite, which is scheduled for April 6-7 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The 36-hole tournament will be played on Elmwood Golf Course.
