DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead women's basketball fell in the final regular season contest of the 2025-26 season. Costly turnovers and hot shooting from Minnesota Duluth led to a 84-53 loss for the Dragons.
While Moorhead would open the game with a 6-2 lead, it was the Bulldogs who controlled action in the first period. Minnesota Duluth would regain a 10-8 lead, eventually concluding the quarter on an 11-0 run to lead 25-13. The Bulldogs made four of six three-point attempts through 10 minutes.
Grace Massaquoi led Moorhead with five points.
The home team would continue to add to their lead as the second quarter began. Minnesota Duluth held a lead as large as 23 points before an
Ashton Safranski three-pointer. At the break, Moorhead trailed 43-22 with the Dragons falling victim to 10 turnovers in the half. On those 10 turnovers, the Bulldogs would score 18 points.
Terryn Johnson led the Dragons with six points.
Minnesota Duluth would continue to extend their advantage in the second half. The Bulldogs would lead 54-28 midway through the third period, opening the half shooting five of six from the floor. MSUM trailed 66-36 after three quarters with Safranski netting six points in the period. Minnesota Duluth made 71.4 percent of its shot attempts in the quarter.
The Bulldogs would continue to convert on offense to keep Moorhead at bay throughout the final quarter. Minnesota Duluth claimed the game 84-53 as Massaquoi led the Dragons with 11 points. The Bulldogs shot 60 percent from the floor for the contest, scoring 25 points off 16 Dragon turnovers.
