INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the fifth consecutive season, MSU Moorhead men's basketball is locked into the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The Dragons earned the number two seed in the region, the NCAA announced Sunday evening.
MSUM will match up with seventh-seeded Fort Hays State (22-9) and will take on the Tigers on Saturday, March 15 at 2:30 p.m.. The contest will be played in Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan., as Washburn University earned the top seed and hosting rights.
The Dragons collect the number two seed after winning the NSIC Tournament last Tuesday. MSUM defeated Minot State in the tournament final, the program's third NSIC Tournament title in four seasons.
Tim Bergstraser's club will enter the NCAA Tournament behind a 23-8 overall record. The NSIC was also represented by Winona State (3), Minot State (4), Concordia, St. Paul and Southwest Minnesota State (6). Harding (8) made up the rest of the eight-team bracket.
