BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead senior pole vaulter
Ashley Hokanson has been named the NSIC's Field Athlete of the Week following a record-breaking performance in MSUM's first weekend of outdoor competition.
Hokanson would place fourth overall in the pole vault at the USD Early Bird on Saturday, finishing first among Division II competitors at the meet. The senior would turn in a lifetime best clearance of 13-11.25 (4.25m), which is also an NCAA provisional mark. For the Perham, Minn., native it also resets her own MSUM school record which was set at last year's USD Early Bird (4.19m).
Hokanson's vault currently sits as the number two performance in Division II so far this season. The Dragons will compete at an array of meets this week, both in California and Jamestown, N.D. Hokanson is expected to compete at the Al Cassell Classic on Friday, April 12.
