NEW ORLEANS, La. – MSU Moorhead had four student-athletes claim United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors. The association announced the annual honors on Tuesday afternoon.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
Ashley Hokanson picked up the distinction in the pole vault following her NSIC championship vault of 13-02.5 (4.03m) which was the fourth-best clearance in the Central Region this season.
Ibrahim Oduong would collect his first All-Region selection in the 400m dash with his school record mark of 47.44 set the UND Open. The time was the fifth-best in the region in 2023-24.
Braxton Bruer earned another All-Region nod thanks to his school record 1:49.29 (converted from 1:50.85) in the 800m, which he ran at the Bison Open on February 2. The run is still the second-best in the Central Region this year. Rounding out the Dragons honorees was
Shyrone Kemp, who garnered All-Region honors in both long jump and triple jump. Kemp has the region's third-best long jump after his NSIC title-winning jump of 24-11.75 (7.61m). In triple jump, Kemp's top mark of 51-10.5 (15.81m) was the second-best in the Central Region this year and won the senior his fifth straight NSIC indoor title in the event.
All four student-athletes will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships which begin on Friday, March 8 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
