MOORHEAD, Minn. – Junior men's basketball player Lorenzo McGhee and senior swimmer Katelin Winter have been named the Minnesota State University Moorhead Athletes of the Week presented by Buffalo Wild Wings for the week of Feb. 7-13.
 
A native of Decatur, Ga., McGhee had a good weekend in helping the Dragons sweep Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. He had 18 points in an 83-77 win over Bemidji State and followed with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds in a 77-63 win over Minnesota Crookston. Over his last nine games, McGhee is averaging 17.7 points per game.
 
A native of Dilworth, Minn.,  Winter had an excellent week at the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships. She won the 200 butterfly and set the school record – twice – to become the Dragons' first NSIC individual champion since 2018. Winter swam a school record of 2:05.53 in the wins to win the 200 fly. She had four top six finishes on the week to lead MSUM. She also swam a split of 1:54.20 in the 800 free relay moments after winning the 200 butterfly.
