BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead athletic department placed 37 athletes on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team, The league announced on Tuesday.
Twenty-four of those athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, which goes to student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.60. To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
Football placed 12 on the fall all-academic team while women's soccer had eight, volleyball and men's cross country had six apiece and women's cross country had five.
