MSUM goes on the road for an Oct. 25 matchup against No. 7 ranked Concordia-St. Paul at 6 p.m.  The next day, the Dragons visit Minnesota State at 2 p.m. MSUM is currently 8-11 and 3-8 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games.

Last Week's Recap...

The Dragons are coming off losses at home against two ranked opponents last weekend. MSUM faced No. 19 ranked Upper Iowa on Oct. 18 and No. 20 ranked Winona State on Oct. 19. The Dragons lost to Upper Iowa in four sets and lost in a three-set sweep to Winona State. In the loss to Upper Iowa, sophomore hitter Sarah Petrbok led with 10 kills. Senior blocker Kaylyn Jenkins and sophomore hitter Amanda Carlson each had eight. At the net, Jenkins led the Dragons with five blocks, while freshman hitter Teeya Doppler had four and sophomore blocker Elise Bakke had three. Petrbok led with 17 digs, sophomore setter Katelyn Selensky had 15, and freshman libero Brooke Walthall had 14. Against Winona State, Doppler led with seven kills. Jenkins had four and Petrbok had three. Freshman setter Amber Bretwisch led the Dragons in assists with nine. Defensively, Jenkins and Doppler each had two blocks. Petrbok and Walthall each had nine digs, while Bretwisch had four.

Concordia-St. Paul

Concordia-St. Paul is currently 15-4 overall and 9-2 in NSIC play. The Golden Bears are ranked No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. CSP is led by freshman Jasmine Mulvihill and junior Erin Fallert. Mulvihill leads the Golden Bears with 275 kills while Fallert is second with 234. Junior Tori Hanson leads the way defensively with 339 digs. Fallert is second with 266. Sophomore Kennedy Brady leads with 68 blocks this season while Mulvihill has 44. In CSP's win over UMary, Mulvihill led with 15 kills while Fallert added 13. Sophomore Payton Nutter and Hanson each had 12 digs to lead the way defensively for the Golden Bears.

Minnesota State

Minnesota State is currently 14-5 overall and 7-4 in the NSIC. The Mavericks are led offensively by senior Morgan Olson and freshman Jessica Nelson. Olson has 267 kills this season while Nelson has 153. Senior Anissa Janzig leads the way at the net with 58 blocks. The Mavericks are also led defensively by junior Mara Quam. Quam has 272 digs this season. In their win over Minot State, Olson led the Mavericks with 19 kills. Janzig added 11 while Nelson had 10. At the net, Janzig posted a team-high six blocks while Olson recorded three. Defensively, Quam led the way with 17 digs.

Following road games against

Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State, the Dragons return home for a matchup on Halloween. They face Northern State on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. MSUM has a quick turnaround as they head on the road for a Nov. 2 match against Minot State. The Dragons also head to Bismarck, N.D., to face UMary on Nov. 5.
