LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Sophomore guard
Kiley Borowicz had a season-high 20 points to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's basketball team to a 74-61 win over Colorado Christian at the final day of the Cherry Creek Holiday Inn Classic on Saturday in Denver, Colo. MSUM went 2-0 on the weekend.
MSUM finishes the nonconference portion of its season at 4-2 while Colorado Christian fell to 2-4.
Borowicz finished 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, while adding five assists and two steals. Senior guard
Jacky Volkert had 10 points, a season-high eight assists and five rebounds while junior forward
Megan Hintz had 10 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward
Madi Green had nine points and eight rebounds in the win.
The Dragons had a commanding 46-24 edge in rebounds, including 16-3 on the offensive glass, which led to a 16-5 advantage in second chance points.
MSUM never trailed. The Dragons led 8-7 but outscored the Cougars 13-3 over the final 6:28 of the first quarter to build a 21-10 lead. Borowicz had nine first-quarter points for MSUM.
The Dragons led by 15 at halftime and pushed the lead to as many as 22 in the second half.

Brooklyn Liegel each had eight points for MSUM. Boom had six rebounds.
MSUM opens NSIC play on Saturday, Dec. 1 at Northern State. Tipoff is 4 p.m. in Aberdeen, S.D.
