ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons freshman
Jordyn Wallenborn was selected as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Co-Newcomer of the Year. This was announced Wednesday by the Conference office.
Wallenborn, a native of Camas, Wash., led the Dragons with 13 goals in her rookie campaign. She complimented those goals iwth three assists to giver her a total of 29 points on the season. Wallenborn had 28 shots on goal this season for a scoring percentage of .683. Three of her goals were game winning.
She shares the Newcomer of the Year honors with fellow second team All-Conference teammate, Mary Morhardt of St. Cloud State.
Junior
Laura Kohtala was also honored as a member of the honorable mention All-Conference team. A strong defender for the Dragons, she had two assists on the season.
