JAMESTOWN, N.D. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons cross country team had top results at the Jimmie Invitational on Friday as the men's team took the title and the women's team placed fifth, against a field of 15 teams.
Despite running with short numbers at the meet both teams' topped many teams across NCAA DII and DIII. The men's team finished with 16 points, in front of second and third place, Dickinson (N.D.) and Jamestown. The women's team took fifth and Jamestown, the host, took first at the meet.
Kyle Eckoff paced the Dragons crossing the finish line second overall, as the first collegian across the line, in a time of 26:13. He was followed by Adam Kne who took third in 26:39. Clayton Foster and Travis Husen rounded out the top-4 Dragons, in times of 27:36 (8th) and 28:01 (10th), respectively.
Sara Julsrud led hte women's team, placing 6th overall in a time of 20:04. Kendra Gaebel followed in 25th place in a time of 21:14 and Kristina Anderson finished in her season-best time of 21:49, in 34th place.
The Dragons will gear up next for the NCAA DII North Central Regional Pre-Championship meet in Wayne, Neb. on Oct. 10.
